Hi, I’m Rose, and this is Bean.

Together, we make the Rose and Bean Blog. Unfortunately, Bean is only fluent in cat but as my companion/familiar/fur baby, he is here always giving his input!
I am a writer/director based in Toronto, ON, making a move to NYC in the Spring of 2026. You can learn more about me and my film career here. Otherwise, this is a space for me to be completely… me!
My goal with this blog is to bring back the authenticity I miss of the internet in the 90s.
I remember spending hours on the internet finding websites hosted on Angelfire and Geocities, made by real people (mostly teens and kids, let’s be real) that were dedicated to creating dollz, fan pages for Britney Spears or hate pages for other celebrities, Sailor Moon love and fan fiction. I remember being 9 years old and learning HTML and coding websites, finding community with strangers from Australia or the US. We didn’t share our real names, we didn’t have followers or likes, we just made websites to share things we liked or thought were cool.
With this blog, I want to do that! Bring Back the Old Internet! Maybe that can eventually become a collective of some sort. For now, it will just be me, sharing my travels, thoughts, and photos.

Film Photos
I picked up a little 50 year old film camera, a Canonet QL19 and want to share those photos. I also take a ton on my iPhone, so I may as well have a spot to share them online (that is not Instagram – PUKE)!

Love of the Written Word
The desire to be a writer was one of my earliest memories. I loved to write stories in my journal. I loved to read stories. I loved to get lost in them. Writing became my way of escaping and healing from the world I was in. It was my joy, and my passion.
As our modern world has changed, and as our focus has lessened, I think writing, reading, and long form creation and intake is more important than ever. Also, I will never use generative A.I. to write! I will use it however to give me skincare advice and advise on what themes to use for this blog.
It’s January 14, 2026 as I write this. Let’s see how the next year goes as I dedicate myself to this blog and practice authentically sharing… me!
